Track With Analytics
You can’t improve what you don’t measure. Analytics tell you where your customers come from, what they do on your site, and how often they buy again. At this stage, you don’t need a giant data team—you just need the basics set up so you can track what matters most.
Where to Add Analytics
- Landing Page → Add a free tool like Google Analytics or Plausible to see who visits, where they come from, and what actions they take.
- Etsy / Amazon → Both platforms offer built-in analytics dashboards to track visits, conversions, and search traffic.
- All-in-One Dashboards → Tools like Google Looker Studio or Triple Whale can combine data from multiple sources into one simple view.
The Five Metrics That Matter Now
- Traffic Sources – Where visitors come from (social, search, email, direct).
- Conversion Rate – % of visitors who buy or sign up.
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) – How much it costs you to get a customer (ads, promos).
- Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) – How much an average customer spends over time.
- Churn Rate – How many customers never come back after the first purchase.
Focusing on these five helps you see what’s working and what needs fixing without drowning in data.
Install Google Analytics (or an alternative) on your landing page, and connect your Etsy/Amazon analytics. Create a simple dashboard—start with traffic sources, conversions, CAC, LTV, and churn. Update it weekly to spot trends.
