Choose What to Sell

Narrow the Field

Narrow the Field

A long list of ideas is a good start, but you can’t build a brand around twenty products at once. The next step is to narrow the field. This doesn’t mean throwing away your creativity—it means choosing which ideas are worth taking seriously right now.

Think of your list as a funnel. At the top, everything is possible. As you move down, you eliminate what doesn’t fit your resources, skills, or vision. For example:

  • If an idea feels exciting but requires heavy machinery you don’t have, cross it out.
  • If another looks profitable but doesn’t interest you at all, cross it out too.
  • Keep the ones that are realistic and motivating.

The goal here isn’t to land on the single product just yet. The goal is to trim your list down to 3–5 strong contenders. That smaller set will give you enough focus to do deeper checks in the next lessons.

Action

Revisit your list of product ideas. Put an “X” next to any that feel unrealistic, too costly, or outside your interests. Highlight 3–5 that feel both exciting and doable.
