List Your Options
Before you can choose what to sell, you need to see your options clearly. That means getting everything out of your head and onto paper (or screen). Think of it like a brainstorming session: no judgment, no filtering yet—just a wide-open list of possible products.
Your list can come from three main places:
- Passions: What do you already love? Coffee, candles, clothing, skincare? Passion matters because you’ll be spending a lot of time with this product.
- Skills or Access: What can you make, source, or design more easily than others? Maybe you already have a supplier contact, or a craft you’re good at.
- Market Gaps: What have you noticed missing? A certain tea flavor you can’t find, a style of jewelry that isn’t represented, or a design that feels fresh.
Don’t overthink it yet. The point is to make the invisible visible. A list of 10–20 product ideas will give you raw material to refine in the next lessons. And don’t worry if some sound silly or impossible—often the best ideas start messy.
Set a 20-minute timer. Write down every product idea that comes to mind, big or small. Aim for at least 10. Keep them in a simple spreadsheet with three columns: Idea, Why I Like It, Where I Saw It.
