Test Samples and Quality

Before you commit to a supplier, you need to hold their product in your hands. Photos and promises aren’t enough—only samples reveal the truth.

When you order samples, you’re not just checking if the product exists. You’re testing:

  • Materials: Do they feel sturdy, safe, and authentic?
  • Craftsmanship: Are the details consistent, or do you spot flaws?
  • Packaging: Is it functional, attractive, and protective?
  • Performance: Does the product actually work as intended—brew well, lather nicely, hold up after use?

A good supplier won’t hesitate to provide samples, even if they charge a small fee or shipping cost. If they refuse, that’s a red flag. Once the samples arrive, compare them against your expectations and your brand story. Does this feel like something you’d be proud to put your name on?

Action

Order samples from at least two suppliers for your anchor product. Create a simple checklist of quality markers (material, look, performance, packaging). Score each sample. Eliminate suppliers who don’t meet your baseline for quality.
